Instructions for How to Install and Use M12 Ratchet Switches

These are the how to install instructions for your Milwaukee M12 Ratchet Switch Kit and Tips & Tricks.

Compatibility:

These ratchet switches are tested and confirmed working with the non-FUEL ¼” and non-FUEL 3/8th Milwaukee Ratchets as well as the FUEL 3/8”, FUEL 3/8” extended, and FUEL ½” (with and without boot). As these are the only ratchets, I have on hand to test personally, they should work with every other version as well. If you have a version not listed here and notice the switch isn’t working or doesn’t fit, send me a message and I’ll see what I can do to help!

There are 2 versions included with your order.

  • S (slim) is for non-boot ratchets only, it has as slimmer profile & allows more clearance.

  • B (boot) is for the boot accessory as it is thicker and gives more ability to grip.

To Install:

  1. Decide which version to use (S or B), and take it out of the included case.

  2. Place the switch over the ratchet heads default switch.

    • Important: There may be some resistance at first, as the 2 magnets polarities are fighting attraction to the metal ratchet head, so it may feel like its hard to maneuver in place, but that’s just the magnets being magnets. Just try to center it and it will click into place then the magnets will be pulled to the bottom part of the ratchet head and click into place holding it securely.

  3. Once the switch is properly secured you can use it to easily switch directions (F/R).

  4. To remove, simply pull it off and put it back in its storage case.

TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • If the magnets ever come lose (they shouldn’t as I used superglue to hold them in place), simply add a drop or two of superglue and put the magnet back in place.

  • There is an extra magnet on the underside of the case, just in case (pun intended). If you lose that one, the replacement magnet you need is a 6x3mm magnet you can get for cheap off Amazon.

  • If you run into clearance issues, you can also take the switch off & just stick it to something metal, as the switch will be able to hold in place wherever you put it.

  • You can use the B (thicker version) without the boot, as the thicker design will make it easier to actuate with or without the boot on.
